This was requested in the CodePlex discussion (http://entityframework.codeplex.com/discussions/391595) as a way to provide a common interface for both DbContext and ObjectContext from which the ObjectContext can be obtained in a common way. Not super-high value, but very easy to do and doesn’t impact the DbContext API at all.
If somebody implements and tests this and submits a pull request then we would likely accept the contribution.
Comments: As per the contributor instructions you should "Run build.cmd from the command line and make sure that there are 0 errors." Running build performs all static analysis and builds for different platforms as well as running all the tests for .NET 4.5. Performing a build from within Visual Studio does some of this but not all of it. This is because the Visual Studio solution is optimized for interactive development whereas build on the command line is used to make sure that everything is ready for check in.
